Jestina Mukoko – a prize-winning human rights activist who was abducted, detained and tortured by State security agents of Zimbabwe, and who was subsequently charged with conspiracy – applied for a permanent stay of prosecution. On 25 June 2009 Beatrice Mtetwa and Jeremy Gauntlett SC appeared in the Supreme Court of Zimbabwe on her behalf. Judgment was reserved in the matter.
